Is Yang Kang in Jin Yong's novel a good person?
Yang Kangzhi is by no means a simple "bad guy" in "The Legend of the Condor Heroes". He lived in the Southern Song Dynasty under the rule of the Jin Kingdom, suffered discrimination and oppression, and his inner struggle was visible. He longs to be accepted and belong, and this desire may be the key to understanding his behavior. However, his choice ultimately led to tragedy and highlighted the darkness of the times and the complexity of human nature. We should criticize their mistakes rather than simply label them as "bad people". Only by exploring the social context behind his motivations and actions can we gain a deeper understanding of this character.
